ADVANTAGES
of sphagnum moss

HORTICULTURE

Peat moss increases:

  • the water holding capacity of sandy soils;
  • the infiltration of water in heavier soils;
  • soil buffering;
  • retention and slow release of minerals;
  • microbial activity in the soil; and
  • aeration of heavy soils.

Peat moss reduces:

  • watering frequency; and
  • the weight-to-volume ratio, facilitating root
    penetration.
Sphagnum peat moss is a premium ingredient for the preparation
of specialized soil mixes.

BEDDING MATERIAL

Peat moss is an important ingredient for top quality bedding. It quickly absorbs liquids and prevents odours.

Suggested instructions for use:
Spread peat moss in a thin layer (1–3 cm) underneath a layer of shavings or straw bedding to facilitate the rapid absorption of liquids.
